Kepler-1258 and Its Solitary Planet

Kepler-1258 is a star located 2340 light-years away with one planet in orbit. The host star is 3.89 billion years old and has a mass of 0.99 solar masses, a radius of 0.99 solar radii, and a temperature of 5840 K.

The single planet, Kepler-1258 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet passes in front of it. This planet completes an orbit every 0.985 days and has a radius of 0.86 Earth radii, a size classified as Sub-Earth and reported as smaller than Earth.
