Kepler-1233 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1233 is a star located 3840 light-years away, and one planet has been found orbiting it. The host star is estimated to be 2.88 billion years old, with a mass of 1.16 solar masses, a radius of 1.25 solar radii, and a temperature of 6200 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-1233 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. This technique detects the small dip in a star's observed brightness when a planet passes in front of it from our viewpoint, and repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period. Kepler-1233 b completes one orbit every 45.1 days and has a radius of 2.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
