Kepler-1213 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1213 is a star 2630 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 3.47 billion years old and has a mass of 1.14 solar masses, a radius of 1.21 solar radii, and a temperature of 6050 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The system's sole cataloged planet, Kepler-1213 b, was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1213 b completes an orbit every 5.35 days, and its radius of 1.19 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. That radius places it in the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
