Kepler-1160 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1160 is a star 3510 light-years away with one known planet, Kepler-1160 b. The host star's reported mass estimate is 0.92 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature of 5520 K is cooler than the Sun's. It is 4.57 billion years old with a radius of 0.89 solar radii.

Kepler-1160 b is a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's reported radius estimate is 2.14 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes an orbit every 7.97 days.
