Kepler-1142 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1142 is a star located 4150 light-years away, with one planet known to orbit it. The host star has a mass of 0.97 solar masses, a radius of 0.96 solar radii, a temperature of 5690 K, and an age of 5.37 billion years.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-1142 b, an Earth-like world discovered by transit in 2016. Transit observations, which detect the small dip in a star's brightness as a planet crosses in front of it, established an orbital period of 18.3 days for this planet. Kepler-1142 b has a radius of 1.47 Earth radii, and its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
