Kepler-1133 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1133 is a star 2460 light-years away with a single known planet in its system. The host star is 4.07 billion years old, holds 0.93 solar masses, spans 0.9 solar radii, and has a temperature of 5570 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The one planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1133 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1133 b completes an orbit every 11.6 days and has a radius of 1.97 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. In size classification, a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius, so this planet's radius sits below that class boundary.
