Kepler-1105 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1105 is a star located 1040 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 8.71 billion years old, with a reported mass of 0.71 solar masses and a reported radius of 0.68 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 4300 K.

The planet, Kepler-1105 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1105 b is a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. It has an orbital period of 4.42 days and a radius of 2.01 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
