Kepler-1073 and Its Three Planets

Kepler-1073 is a star 2640 light-years away with three planets in the catalog. The star is 3.72 billion years old and holds 1 solar masses and 1 solar radii, with a temperature of 5790 K. The three worlds were all found by transit, the method in which a planet crosses in front of its star and produces a small dip in brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods.

Kepler-1073 b is a Super-Earth with a radius of 2.3 Earth radii and an orbital period of 8.68 days. Kepler-1073 c is also a Super-Earth, with a radius of 1.64 Earth radii and an orbital period of 4.03 days; its discovery was reported in 2016, the same year as Kepler-1073 b. Kepler-1073 d is an Earth-like planet with a radius of 1.49 Earth radii and an orbital period of 2.5 days, reported in 2021.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-1073 d has both the smallest radius and the shortest year, while Kepler-1073 b has the largest radius and the longest year. Kepler-1073 c has the second-smallest radius and the second-shortest year. All three radii are larger than Earth's.
