Kepler-1066 is a star located 1,120 light-years from Earth, and it hosts one known planet. The star itself is 3.8 billion years old and has a mass of 0.98 solar masses and a radius of 0.98 solar radii. Its temperature is 5,760 K, placing it close to the Sun in both mass and size.
The single planet in this system is Kepler-1066 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1066 b completes an orbit in just 1.93 days, and its radius is 2.36 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. As a Super-Earth, its size class reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius, so the planet fits within that category by radius alone.
