Kepler-1052 is a star 3080 light-years away with two planets orbiting it. The star is 3.55 billion years old and has a mass of 1.03 solar masses, a radius of 1.03 solar radii, and a temperature of 5890 K.
Both planets were found by the transit method, in which a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1052 b was discovered in 2016 and is Neptune-like, with an orbital period of 34.9 days and a radius of 2.93 Earth radii. Kepler-1052 c was discovered in 2023 and is a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 181 days and a radius of 2.3 Earth radii.
Kepler-1052 b's reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, and Kepler-1052 c's reported radius estimate is also larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, Kepler-1052 b has the shortest orbital period, 34.9 days, and the largest radius, 2.93 Earth radii. Kepler-1052 c has the longest orbital period, 181 days, and the smallest radius, 2.3 Earth radii.
