Kepler-1014 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1014 is a star 2040 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.79 billion years old and has a mass of 0.88 solar masses, a radius of 0.84 solar radii, and a temperature of 5390 K. Its mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only listed planet is Kepler-1014 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1014 b orbits every 16.6 days and has a radius of 2.39 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
