Kepler-1869: A Star With Two Small Planets

Kepler-1869 is a star 369 light-years from Earth with two known planets. The host star has a mass of 1.03 solar masses, a radius of 0.945 solar radii, and a temperature of 5770 K.

Both planets were found by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1869 b is classified as Earth-like and was discovered in 2021. It has an orbital period of 8.17 days and a radius of 1.12 Earth radii. Kepler-1869 c is classified as a Sub-Earth and was discovered in 2023. Its orbital period is 1.72 days, and its radius is 0.74 Earth radii.
