Kepler-1765 b: A Super-Earth on a Short Orbit

Kepler-1765 is a star located 2490 light-years from Earth. The star has a mass of 0.946 solar masses, a radius of 1.06 solar radii, and a temperature of 5690 K. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet is Kepler-1765 b, a Super-Earth discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1765 b completes one orbit, or year, in 10.4 days, and its reported radius estimate is 2.5 Earth radii. That figure places it within the Super-Earth size class, which reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius, and is larger than Earth's.
