Kepler-1764 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-1764 is a star located 5030 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star's reported mass estimate is 1.14 solar masses, larger than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is 1.45 solar radii, also larger than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 6090 K is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet is Kepler-1764 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1764 b orbits every 70.5 days. Its radius of 4.56 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, which places it above the Jupiter-like threshold, since a planet of that class exceeds 4 times Earth's radius.
