Kepler-1654 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-1654 is a G5 V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 1850 light-years away. It has a mass of 1.01 solar masses and a radius of 1.18 solar radii, which is larger than the Sun's. Its temperature of 5600 K is cooler than the Sun's, and its age is reported as a lower limit of 5 billion years.

One planet orbits this star. Kepler-1654 b was discovered in 2018 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class for worlds exceeding 4 times Earth's radius, and its radius of 9.18 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass is reported as an upper limit of 158.915 Earth masses, and it completes one orbit every 1050 days.
