Kepler-1616 and Its Lone Known Planet

Kepler-1616 is a star 3710 light-years away with one known planet in its system. The host star is estimated to be 2.75 billion years old, with a mass of 1.21 solar masses and a radius of 1.34 solar radii; its temperature is 6270 K, making it hotter than the Sun. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's.

The system's only listed planet is Kepler-1616 b, an Earth-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1616 b orbits every 6.76 days and has a radius of 1.02 Earth radii. As an Earth-like planet, it falls within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
