Kepler-1578 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1578 is a star located 3470 light-years away with one planet orbiting it. The host star is 0.9 solar masses and 0.86 solar radii, with an age of 4.27 billion years and a temperature of 5550 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1578 b was discovered by transit in 2016, when it passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as Earth-like, with a radius of 1.04 Earth radii and an orbital period of 1.45 days. With a radius within 1.5 times Earth's, the Earth-like classification compares size rather than composition.
