Kepler-1572 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1572 is a star located 3090 light-years away. It hosts one known planet, Kepler-1572 b. The star is 4.79 billion years old, has a mass of 0.97 solar masses, a radius of 0.95 solar radii, and a temperature of 5620 K. Its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-1572 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet passes in front of it from our viewpoint. Repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period. This planet completes one orbit every 5.5 days. It is classified as a Sub-Earth, meaning its radius is smaller than Earth's, and its radius is 0.94 Earth radii.
