Kepler-1545 b: A Neptune-Like World in a Distant System

Kepler-1545 is a star 2380 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.47 billion years old, has 0.84 solar masses, 0.8 solar radii, and a temperature of 5200 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet, Kepler-1545 b, is Neptune-like, meaning its radius reaches up to four times Earth's. Discovered in 2016 by the transit method, when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness, it has an orbital period of 164 days and a radius of 2.7 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
