Kepler-1520 and Its Close-Orbiting Planet

Kepler-1520 is a star located 1980 light-years away. It hosts one planet, Kepler-1520 b. The star is estimated to be 4.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.76 solar masses and a radius of 0.71 solar radii. Its temperature is 4680 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-1520 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. The planet completes an orbit in 0.654 days. It has a radius of 5.77 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and is classified as Jupiter-like, a size class for planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius.
