Kepler-1490 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1490 is a star located 2810 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 4.57 billion years old, with a mass of 0.9 solar masses, a radius of 0.87 solar radii, and a temperature of 5520 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1490 b, is classified as Neptune-like and was discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1490 b has an orbital period of 92.4 days and a radius of 3.04 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
