Kepler-1152 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1152 is a star 702 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 3.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.55 solar masses and a radius of 0.53 solar radii. Its temperature is 3960 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1152 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star slightly dims the observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1152 b orbits every 1.65 days and has a radius of 0.87 Earth radii, smaller than Earth's. That places it in the Sub-Earth size class, which compares radius with Earth's: a Sub-Earth is smaller than Earth.
