K2-83: A Cool Dwarf with Two Earth-Like Planets

K2-83 is a star 409 light-years away with two planets orbiting it. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.557 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.563 solar radii, and a temperature of 3850 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2016. K2-83 b has an orbital period of 2.75 days and a radius of 1.24 Earth radii. K2-83 c has an orbital period of 10 days and a radius of 1.48 Earth radii. Both are Earth-like in size, and each has a radius larger than Earth's.

Among the listed planets, K2-83 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while K2-83 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
