K2-219: A Distant Star With Three Known Planets

K2-219 is a star located 1060 light-years away, and three planets have been identified in orbit around it in the provided data. The star itself has a mass of 1.02 solar masses, a radius of 1.19 solar radii, and a temperature of 5750 K. Its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's.

All three planets were discovered by the transit method and announced in 2018. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Each of the three planets has a reported radius estimate larger than Earth's.

K2-219 b is classified as Earth-like and has an orbital period of 3.9 days and a radius of 1.35 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest orbital period and the smallest radius by reported estimates.

K2-219 c is also Earth-like, with an orbital period of 6.67 days and a radius of 1.44 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the second-shortest orbital period and the second-smallest radius by reported estimates.

K2-219 d is classified as Neptune-like. It has an orbital period of 11.1 days and a radius of 2.58 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the longest orbital period and the largest radius by reported estimates.
