K2-190 and Its Two Earth-Like Planets

K2-190 is a star 524 light-years away with two known planets, both discovered by transit in 2018. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The star has a mass of 0.991 solar masses, a radius of 0.981 solar radii, and a temperature of 5610 K, which is cooler than the Sun's reported temperature.

Both planets are Earth-like in size class, meaning their radii stay within 1.5 times Earth's radius. K2-190 b has a radius of 1.36 Earth radii and an orbital period of 10.1 days. K2-190 c has a radius of 1.09 Earth radii and an orbital period of 21.6 days. Among the listed planets, K2-190 b has the shortest year and the largest radius by reported estimates, while K2-190 c has the longest year and the smallest radius. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's.
