K2-141 and Its Two Worlds

K2-141 is a K7 V star located 202 light-years away. Its two listed planets both transit, or pass in front of it from our viewpoint, causing small dips in observed brightness that repeat and reveal their orbital periods. The star is 0.74 billion years old and holds 0.662 solar masses, 0.674 solar radii, and a temperature of 4370 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun’s, and its reported temperature is cooler.

K2-141 b is a Super-Earth with a mass of 4.97 Earth masses and a radius of 1.51 Earth radii; both estimates are larger than Earth’s. Its mean density is 7.95 g/cm³, 1.44 times Earth's. It completes an orbit in 0.28 days - the shortest year among the listed planets. K2-141 c is Jupiter-like, with a reported upper limit of 8 Earth masses and a radius of 7 Earth radii, larger than Earth’s. It orbits in 7.75 days, the longest year among the listed planets. It also has the largest radius of the pair, while K2-141 b has the smallest.
