K2-117 and Its Two Super-Earths

K2-117 is an M1.0 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, located 331 light-years away. Its reported mass estimate is 0.532 solar masses and its reported radius estimate is 0.513 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature is 3680 K, cooler than the Sun's. Two planets orbit this host.

Both are Super-Earths discovered by transit in 2017. K2-117 b has an orbital period of 1.29 days and a radius of 2.03 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. K2-117 c has an orbital period of 5.44 days and a radius of 2.06 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, K2-117 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while K2-117 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
