HIP 79098 AB b: A Circumbinary Planet Around a Young B-Type Star

HIP 79098 AB is a binary star system 476 light-years from Earth. The host star is a B9 V star with a mass of 3.75 solar masses, larger than the Sun's mass. It is very young, with an age of 0.01 billion years.

One planet orbits this system: HIP 79098 AB b, a circumbinary planet, meaning it orbits both stars rather than one star alone. It was discovered in 2019 by imaging. Its mass is 6520 Earth masses, larger than Earth's mass and roughly 20.5 times Jupiter's mass. No orbital period is reported for HIP 79098 AB b.
