HD 96063 is a G6 V star 457 light-years away. Its spectral type marks it as a Sun-like, main-sequence dwarf. The star is 2.92 billion years old, with a mass of 1.39 solar masses and a radius of 3.33 solar radii. Its temperature is 5130 K, cooler than the Sun's, and both its mass and radius are larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.
That planet, HD 96063 b, was discovered in 2011 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. It has a minimum mass of 404 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass, and an orbital period of 363 days. Its minimum mass is larger than Earth's and roughly 1.27 times Jupiter's mass.
