HD 190007 is a K4 V star, an orange dwarf, located 41.5 light-years away. It is the only known planet host in this system, and one planet has been found around it. The star has a reported mass of 0.77 solar masses and a radius of 0.79 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature is 4610 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is reported only as a lower limit of 1 billion years.
The planet HD 190007 b was discovered in 2020 using the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. It has a minimum mass of 15.5 Earth masses, larger than Earth's mass, and an orbital period of 11.7 days. Because this is a minimum mass, it represents a lower bound on the planet's true mass rather than an ordinary estimate.
