HD 162020 and Its Lone Known Planet

HD 162020 is a G5 star 101 light-years away with one known planet. Its reported mass is 0.75 solar masses and its radius is 0.63 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature is 4890 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age carries a reported upper limit of 1 billion years.

The one known planet is HD 162020 b, found in 2002 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star. Its minimum mass is 3130 Earth masses, a lower bound larger than Earth's and roughly 9.84 times Jupiter's mass. It completes an orbit every 8.43 days.
