HD 154345 and Its Single Known Planet

HD 154345 is a G8V star located 59.6 light-years from Earth. Its spectral type identifies it as a main-sequence dwarf, and its reported measurements include an age of 4.92 billion years, a mass of 0.89 solar masses, a radius of 0.86 solar radii, and a temperature of 5470 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, HD 154345 b, was discovered in 2006 using the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. HD 154345 b has a reported mass of 377 Earth masses, roughly 1.19 times Jupiter's mass, and a mass larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 3280 days.
