HD 137388 and Its Planet

HD 137388 is a K2 IV star 132 light-years away with one known planet. The star is estimated to be 6.45 billion years old, with a mass of 0.86 solar masses and a radius of 0.82 solar radii. Its temperature is 5240 K, and its reported mass and radius estimates are each smaller than the Sun's, while its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The one planet orbiting this star is HD 137388 b, discovered in 2011 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. HD 137388 b has a minimum mass of 63.6 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass rather than an ordinary mass estimate, and that minimum mass is larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 330 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit, and it is the only listed planet's period.
