HD 108147 and Its Planet

HD 108147 is a star 127 light-years away with one known planet. It is an F8 V CH+0.4 star, a spectral type indicating a main-sequence dwarf hotter than the Sun. The star is 1 billion years old, has a mass of 1.2 solar masses, a radius of 1.16 solar radii, and a temperature of 6180 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet HD 108147 b was discovered in 2002 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 83 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and this is a lower bound on its true mass. The planet completes an orbit in 10.9 days.
