HATS-54 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

HATS-54 is a G6 V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 2440 light-years away. It is 7.96 billion years old, holds 1.05 solar masses, spans 1.23 solar radii, and has a temperature of 5620 K. Its radius is larger than the Sun's, while its temperature is cooler.

One planet orbits this host: HATS-54 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2019 by the transit method, in which a planet crosses in front of its star and dims it slightly. The planet's radius of 11.4 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its mass of 239 Earth masses is likewise larger. It completes an orbit every 2.54 days, and its mean density is 0.895 g/cm³, 0.163 times Earth's.
