HAT-P-60 is a star 761 light-years away. It has a mass of 1.44 solar masses and a radius of 2.2 solar radii, both larger than the Sun's corresponding values, and a temperature of 6210 K, hotter than the Sun's. Its age is 2.77 billion years. One planet orbits this star.
That planet, HAT-P-60 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. HAT-P-60 b has a mass of 182 Earth masses and a radius of 18.3 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 4.79 days, and its mean density is 0.165 g/cm³, 0.0299 times Earth's.
