GJ 1151 is a small, cool red dwarf star of spectral type M 4.5V, located 26.2 light-years from Earth. The star has a reported mass estimate of 0.164 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.178 solar radii, and a temperature of 3280 K. Its mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
One planet is known to orbit this host: GJ 1151 c. It was discovered in 2023 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. The planet has a minimum mass of 10.6 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass, which is larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 390 days.
