BEBOP-4 A is a G3 V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 764 light-years away. Its reported mass is 1.02 solar masses, its radius is 2.76 solar radii, and its temperature is 5700 K. The star's reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's. It is one of two stars in its system, and one planet orbits both stars together.
That planet, BEBOP-4 AB b, is a circumbinary planet: it orbits both stars of the binary rather than one star alone. It was discovered in 2025 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. The planet's orbital period is 1820 days, and its mass is reported as an upper limit of 8358.8871041 Earth masses, a bound rather than an exact value.
